Blank Mark-Making Boards

from $19.95

Set of 4 | White Collection

Give children a blank canvas for their ideas with our Blank Mark-Making Boards, designed to support creativity, communication and child-led learning across indoor and outdoor environments.
Made from lightweight corflute, each board provides an open-ended surface where children can draw, write, create symbols, record their thinking and make their own signs. With no predetermined images or instructions, children decide what their board will become, placing their ideas and voices at the centre of the experience.
Perfect for early learning environments, kindergartens, schools, outdoor spaces, gardens, dramatic play areas and inquiry projects.

White Collection

Each set includes 4 crisp white boards, providing a simple, neutral background that allows children's drawings, writing and ideas to become the focus. The white surface works beautifully with colourful permanent markers and acrylic paint pens.

Available Sizes

A4 – Set of 4
Ideal for individual mark-making, signs, labels and smaller learning experiences.
A3 – Set of 4
A larger surface perfect for collaborative drawing, mapping, project work, signs and shared thinking.

Creating Your Signs

Children can use permanent markers such as Sharpies or acrylic paint pens to draw, write and decorate their signs. Once completed, we recommend applying a suitable clear protective spray to help preserve children's artwork and improve its resistance to outdoor conditions.
Please note: These signs are intended as a creative, single-use resource rather than reusable wipe-clean signs. Children's mark-making may naturally fade over time when exposed to sunlight, rain and outdoor conditions.

Why Blank?

Sometimes the most meaningful resource is one that doesn't tell children what to do.
By intentionally leaving the boards blank, children are given the opportunity to make decisions, represent their thinking and create something that has meaning to them. The same board can become a garden sign for one child, a map for another, or a menu, drawing, number chart or story for someone else.
This makes the boards particularly useful for child-led curriculum, project work and inquiry-based learning.

Make Their Mark Permanent

Love your children's signs and want to preserve their work?
If you would like children's completed mark-making professionally reproduced as a more permanent sign, please reach out to Of Wonder and Curiosity to discuss a custom collaboration. This allows children's original ideas, drawings and writing to become a lasting part of your learning environment.

EYLF V2.0 Connections

Outcome 1 – Children have a strong sense of identity
Children can express their individual ideas, interests, experiences and identities through their creations. Displaying children's own signs and artwork within the learning environment communicates that their ideas and contributions are valued.
Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners
The open-ended boards encourage curiosity, creativity, imagination, experimentation and problem-solving. Children can plan what they want to create, choose how they represent their thinking and adapt their ideas as their learning develops.
Outcome 5 – Children are effective communicators
The boards provide authentic opportunities for mark-making, drawing, emergent writing, letters, numbers, symbols and visual representation. Children explore how marks, print and images can carry meaning and communicate ideas, information and stories to others.
